Carb vs EFI (TPI)
Im looking to purchase a 2018 xcw as they have some good deals now but was wondering how everyone is liking the TPI (fuel injected) versions compared to the old carbs? Also is a jetting kit necessary?

Jd jetting kits usually take the guesswork out of carb setup. Just follow the supplied instructions.

I used the Jet kit and a little fix kit which in my opinion was needed. After that the bike ran perfectly.
It is also for sale if you want to buy something all set up already!

Allison's (Cycleworks) used bikes are always a great deal. Her stuff is dealer maintained and loaded up with all the must haves. As a bonus she isn't hard on her gear, which really is the most important.
Always a safe buy.
As for tpi vs carb, it comes down to personal choice and your mechanical ability to set up a carb. IMO.

The fix kit is a little jet block gasket and o-ring that you get separately from the jet kit, they came damaged on a lot of the bikes!capbucky wrote:What was the fix kit? What do you got? Thanks! Still considering if I should take the plunge and go TPI or go with the less expensive carb models... dont want to mess with the carb too much .. jsut want to ride! lol

Carb , cheaper . I also have a 2017 xcw forsale all done with jd kit and a bunch of other stuff forsale if interested !

I am new to this forum and wanted to ask, you said you jetted your carbs using a 42 slow jet and a 120 main jet, what are the stock jets? Just want to know how much of a difference the jets you used are from factory.
