Course Work for 2014 Dirty Moose, call for volunteers.
During these dog days of winter I want to build up a list of people who would like to lend a day working on the course. Right now there is no set work days, these will be based on when we can get permits etc.
To remind you where we have come from, with the advent of GAMP, all our traditional singletrack was taken away from us, this was compounded by a severe windstorm that destroyed virtually 100% of the singletrack in the Fallen timber area. The RMDRA and secondgear club have been using races as an approved way of reclearing the old singletrack in the hopes of getting them officially approved and on "the map". This has meant 1000s of man hrs over the past 7 years, the good news is that we have reached a stage where we have a critical mass of singletrack that can be used for races.
As an overview the plan for this year's race will be three loops, with increasing difficulty. The loops are designed so that everyone can have a satisfying experience. Example the first loop will challenge some of the ladies, and all of the beginners, but will be doable at this level in under 3 hrs. The second loop will be restricted to B's and up, this one will challenge B's but should be completed by them in under 2 hours. Finally the third loop will be for intermediate and up. It will be challenging for Fat old A's like myself.
I need everyone from ladies on up to help. Example I would like to have some ladies work/ride on the first loop to make sure it provides the right mix of fun and challenge so that the ladies that come from out of town can expect a loop that will be fun but make them tired at the end.
I need B's to help evaluate the 2nd loop, and I need some hard core dudes on the final loop. The 3rd loop WILL have some sections that are aahhhh "old school". The plan is to have just a little technical challenge for our great pros, and fat old guys like me crying like Alessi.
Feel free to PM me, thx

I'm in. I work shift work so weekends can be tough to line up, but weekdays are usually easy.
