Anybody been to Waip lately?
Buddy and I both had kids this winter and didn't end up having time to convert the bikes for winter, and now we're itching to ride. Anybody been to Waiporus lately? Still lots of snow out there?

It's not like in the city, there is no option really. We needed full studs last weekend.

South end Sunday. Quad trails needed studs. Heck, the trans alta rd could have been easier negotiated on a sled!

We did a couple laps yesterday, no studs = misery. Couple more weekends yet.

The WRT is very fragile in spring. Once it gets wet we need to stay off of it until it dries out or it ruts up very badly. If we stay to the rocky trails during the spring breakup we have better trails overall.

The first rule of WRT is: You don't talk about WRT!

Way too late for that. The hard work of a few, enjoyed by the many = a highly used (over used) trail.malcolmzilla wrote:The first rule of WRT is: You don't talk about WRT!

I've been out of it for practically a year now, but isn't the WRT still an illegal trail to ride?MtnBlue wrote:Way too late for that. The hard work of a few, enjoyed by the many = a highly used (over used) trail.malcolmzilla wrote:The first rule of WRT is: You don't talk about WRT!
I've never rode it, just reviewing what was said in meetings.

If anyone goes this weekend please post snow update. We plan on going on Good Friday and one of the gents coming doesnt have spikes. Curious to know how much snow will be left in a week. Looks pretty warm for the next week

It's open for business again after the latest logging. Snow varies from none to 8" but it's been ridden and is a pretty fast ride.
