Make the forum Mobile

Hey,
I was wanting to talk to the forum administrator about make the RMDRA forum accessible from mobile devices, i.e. BlackBerry, iPhones, etc. I am an IT guy that has experience with web development, and I would be willing to help out with this - if you think members would be interested in accessing the forum from their phones.

I visit many sites from my BB that are using a mobile version and its great. I think that phpBB has an add-on for this type of thing.

Yes there are addon scripts that would allows us to access the forum using apps from tapatalk, etc.

I access this forum all the time from my IPhone. What would need to change??

phpBB seems to think that mobile device access is built into the product.
Since it currently works on the iPhone and BlackBerry with the latest software version, I don't feel that this is a necessary addition given the associated risk and the additional management that will be required moving forward.

My thought is.... I like the idea, and I have a web phone as well, but let's just let the volunteers who upkeep the forums ride and not worry about making changes to accomodate a few who may check it mobiley. I think they have more pressing issues such as trail upkeep right now.
I'd just like to give a big
to the mods that curently patrol and upkeep the forums, they run much speedier now!

By the way, for those with iPhones, there is an app that you can download called Forums Pro which works on the forum - I am using it right now. This app allows you to access the forum with a native iPhone app just like your mail or calendar app.

The mobile versions are just more condensed and kind of strips the "extras" off of forums.
