New Forum
I finally got around to updating the forum software. It is very different than the old version. I'm sure that there are things that don't work or need adjusting.

Re: New Forum
I thought it was slower so that's good feedback.Wendy wrote:I'm on dialup & its seems like the new forum is faster
FYI, Searching is down while I get the Search Index rebuilt. I can't believe it has been running for 6 hours already. I keep thinking it is stalled but it doesn't seem to be.
So far it has done 12,000 of 21,000 so I guess it should be done in the morning.
Re: New Forum
Your work on this stuff is hugely appreciated Dirtyboy.
I think it is a tad slower than before....but it does look cool. Just need to get used to the new color scheme and figure out which sections have new posts.....I see they are RED

Re: New Forum
If you are having trouble reading the messages, check out the different font sizes.
Up at the top beside the word "Join" on the menus bar is a control that looks a bit like ^A^ It allows you to choose 1 of 3 font sizes for the forum. Makes it easy to read when you are old like me.
There is way more database work going on with this so I know it is a bit slower. Looking at moving hardware in the future.

Re: New Forum
The new color scheme is way less obnoxious looking on my screen at work! Looks more like an ordinary geek form. Now I can get busted less for screwing around. Good stuff.

Nice work dirtyboy! I like the look of the new forum. Outside of a few quirks with the searches and login, great new look. And now the nazi IT people at my work (cedric) will get off my a** for surfing the net all day.

Re: New Forum
Automatic login seems like a big issue.
I think I've found the issue. It is now working for me. Please close your browser (or window/tab), try again and report back:

Looks good, nice work.
Re: the auto login - I just deleted my old bookmark, logged into the 'new look' and re-save the bookmark and all seems good.

Re: New Forum
Thanks for the feedback guys. I appreciate it.
I think it is a bit faster with the autologin straightened out.
