Script Errors
Script Errors
Would the posts that are heavily laden with youtube clips cause a script message? I keep getting an explorer window popping up telling me a script is running and is causing my browser to run slow or unresponisve (which is the case).

Re: Posting embedded Video
I'm not sure about that MtnBlue. Does this thread give you trouble? The one you mentioned to me earlier only has 2 youtube videos on it.
Re: Posting embedded Video
I've been seeing the unresponsive script message as well, but I hadn't noticed if it's only on the threads with embedded youtube links. Never happened before today or yesterday.
Re: Posting embedded Video
getting the script message on a few threads (usually the longer ones with videos). Takes a number of "attempts" to load the page

Re: script errors
I've been getting these messages too in IE. If I run the same page in Firefox, no problem.

Re: Script Errors
I had this problem the other night at work. The message was a script error message and was on all pages of the site, some without any youtube embedded links. The site was unviewable as I tried several times over a 12 hour shift. After that night everything worked fine with no script error messages at all...
Re: Script Errors
No problems with mobile safari, nor firefox 6

Re: Script Errors
I get it at work and on one of our home computers. Here's what Microsoft has to say on the issue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175500

Forum Help
come to think of it, the computer that is unaffected runs ie8 and I think the affected machines are on ie7. Maybe the upgrade is the solution for folks who don't like mucking around with registry settings.

Re: Script Errors
I could find nothing based on the messages here. Is there a more specific error? Is everyone getting the exact same error message?
I won't be able to fix everyone's browser like the error is looking like. If there was an exact error message I might be able to get some search results. I have not been able to see an error (other than when the ISP has trouble from time to time) when using FF or IE and using many different PCs in the past few weeks.

Re: Script Errors
Hey DirtyBoy,
This is what the error message looks like, it's not very informative. I just tried this at home, on my newest computer. Never an issue with FF, but when I use IE8 I get the msg. That's running a 64 bit version of Windows 7, same problem at work with Win XP and IE7. It does not seem to matter if I turn active scripting off. The page freezes while loading, before the Facebook and Twitter icons appear, then the error message comes up. Choosing 'Yes' vs. 'No' seems to have little effect, the message comes back repeatedly either way and I usually end up having to kill IE from the task manager.
It's really affecting my productivity at work...
