SSRP - Write to the Minister!

Post by RJHenry »

Hey Everyone!

Now that the SSRP Consultation sessions have ended, one last opportunity that you have to impact this round is to send a letter or other correspondence to Diana McQueen, the Stewardship Minister (and also the MInister of ESRD).

If you are game to craft your own message, that's fantastic. Her contact information is as follows:
Honourable Diana McQueen
Stewardship Minister
204 Legislature Building
10800 97 Avenue
Edmonton, AB T5K 2B6

If you prefer, we have prepared a form letter and had a whole stack personalized and signed by most of the folks at the AGM on Thursday, and I have attached a blank copy which you may personalize, print, and mail yourself.

Thanks to all who have helped with the Consultations, and to all who write letters!!

Sent letter.

Is there any point in cc'ing my opposition MLA? We have a Wildrose MLA for our riding and I'm wondering if they have any position on the issues? It does seem like an issue of reasonable access for all citizens vs. the narrow interests of a group of elites/greenies type of thing.

I believe all the copies to all the folks cannot hurt. Your MLA, the Stewarship Commissioner, the Premier, etc. The more lobbying we do the broader our message reaches, the more accustomed the province becomes to hearing our story, the less catch up we have to do at any given encounter.

For efficiency reasons, I chose to target the Minister and use a form letter. Customized letters, sent individually, can only improve on that baseline.

Thanks for your efforts!
