Environmentalists Kill Parks Bill

Tourism Parks and Recreation wanted to make it clearer where Albertans can recreate and where we can't through changes to legislation. It was a simple enough change but the environmentalists where so concerned that protected areas would be declared as recreation areas, they had the bill killed. (although there was no evidence of this)

What amounted to basically a letter writing campaign to the government and their media ties, the environmentalist organizations in Alberta were successful once again in proving who runs the province and creates policy. It's not SRD or TPR, but special interests groups in the province. Do these special interest groups represent you?
I hope that our OHV groups are as organized and passionate about engaging government as the environmentalists are. Then when the next piece of legislation that further restricts our access is tabled, we can stage a similar response.
