Listening to the news and reading that article, sure offers a lot of optimism for the OHV industry and people who ride.
Hopefully the word will get back to the groups and organizations that have gave their time and money such as the MMIC, that they are seeing progress.
Collectively we have to keep on the gas, and get the government to open up the trails they are talking about.
We have them there! The trails are there! Put them on the map!
I don’t know how much simpler it can be for the government?
With the most OHV units sold in North America as they stated and more units being sold everyday we need more trails not less.
The government cant keep cramming more units on the same amount of trails, its dangerous!
Imagine this, take away 75% of the roads in Calgary, leave Deerfoot, Crowchild, Memorial…etc.
Then imagine all the cars in Calgary, on those roads and you keep adding new cars!
Its dangerous and the roads wont last, under the all the traffic.
More units equals more trails!

Very true John.
Reading the comments after the article gives a great flavor for what we are up against....lots of very close minded opinions in there.

Here's the complete Alberta Plan for Parks document.

I think this is a good start. It at least recognizes OHV as a legitimate recreational activity.
