Meadow Creek Bridge Install - Volunteers Needed!!

Hello everyone,

We hope you have been enjoying Alberta's version of summer! Even with all the rain, its been a busy year for ABProjects and volunteers all over Alberta.

We would like to take this time to request volunteers for an exciting project in Waiparous. We hope you can spare a day or two, or even both to come out!



15 Volunteers are needed each day for the final stages of the Meadow Creek Bridge install.


DATE: September 13 and 14 2008
MEETING TIME: 8:45AM
**DEPARTURE TIME TO PROJECT SITE: 9:15AM sharp
MEETING LOCATION: Ghost Air Strip
PROJECT CONTACT: alberta.projects@gmail.com

Volunteers will be required to assist with packing and raking the ground, drilling, cutting and assembling the bridge and decking, installing decking and completing the finishing touches around abutments.
The remaining portions of the old bridge will also need to be cut and transported back to the MS camp, trucks will be required for this.

** There will be heavy duty machinery on site, so please do not bring children or pets.
If you do, please keep them safely away from the project site.
Also, please keep vehicles away from work site to allow proper work space for the machinery.

If you have any of the following, please bring them:

Drills for screwing decking
Chain saw and gear
Shovels
Generator
Gas or diesel tamper for compacting dirt
A skill saw (circular saw) will be needed for cutting wood.
Cutting torch.
Electric Impact gun.
Socket sets up to 1 ¼" and wrench sets up to the.
Satellite phone or radio
First Aid kit


Special requests:

If you or someone you know is willing to come out with either of the following, please let us know.
Trucks with dump trailers.
Diesel or gas powered welding unit on a trailer or truck.


Please bring all PPE: Safety glasses, steel toed work boots, gloves (leather), rubber boots, chain saw gear, hearing protection.

Please bring lunch, water, warm clothes and rain gear for yourself.
