SRD will stick it to us after the election

Post by Hendrix13 »

I emailed the SRD about when they're releasing the LUF:

LUF@gov.ab.ca

Is the government planning on releasing their "Land Use Framework"
before the election is called?

I would find it irresponsible to ask voters to choose a government
while policy is being held back. What is the timeline for
releasing the final version of this?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Their Reply:

Good Morning,

The draft Land-use Framework is still in process and now, due to the
election will not be ready for release until early spring.

We note that you are part of our LUF information network and you will be
notified once the draft has been released for review.

Thank you for your continued interest and have a good day.

LUF

.........
After all that effort to create the LUF. I see this as a cowardly move on the SRD's behalf. Why not make this an election issue. This government is hiding behind the complacency of the general public to become re-elected. Only after the election will we realize this governments true agenda.

I for one can no longer support the PC government and will not be voting for them in this election..

Send a message and DO NOT VOTE PC!!!

I think many people in our community are not pleased with the PC Party, from their policies (or lack of) to implementation (or lack of) to the way they have handled requests for information and our involvement in government related committees.

Look at the Liberals platform on thier website. here are a few key points about the environment and how to better use public lands. They will ensure that the Andy Russell park gets created essentially eliminating any OHV south of highway 3, they also want to "immediatley review existing legislation to strengthen Alberta's parks and protected areas" (take that how you want to) and "increase the amount of protected park space"

I have no idea who I am voting for this year as there is no clear OHV supporters out there.

Spinalguy has a good point. It's very common for ministers to switch after an election.

After watching the debate on tv last night I can't believe Ed has made it this far. They need to switch him out for somebody with a pulse. He reminded me of a weekend at Bernies :D
