$30 should apply to all public lands / backcountry users, even the "ravers", might dissuade the sh_t rats from even leaving town in the 1st place.

$30.00 trail fee would be great, its something we have been asking for for a very long time.
More singletrack, funds to maintain current trails and would eliminate some of the problem users that give the majority of users a bad name.

Ive got no issues with the fee as long as it keeps riding areas open with potential of new trails

I am thinking you mean make existing trails legal to actually create a usable well connected trail network.scubarusteve wrote:Ive got no issues with the fee as long as it keeps riding areas open with potential of new trails

Is $30 enough? I kinda like what they have done at Bear Creek in Kelowna. I believe it's $75 for a season pass or $15/day for day use. I'm not trying to reach into everyone's wallet but Bear Creek seems pretty well run if you ask me.
In any case, me and my buds would gladly pay to keep riding areas maintained and open.

I think $30 is a good start. Hopefully we also get back to grants/funding we received prior to the NDP. Fund raising has also been a big part of our trails in Alberta, I heard the Crowsnest Quad Squad had spent $5 million in the Castle. RMDRA has Casino funding and I would take a wild guess that the club has spent $1 million in McLean/Ghost. We have another Casino in the 4th quarter of this year.Pipster wrote:Is $30 enough? Okay, now that Kenny is in, how do we ensure this plan moves forward?

The AOHVA has been working very closely with the UPC for the last couple of years. The AOHVA could not even get a phone call returned from the NDP Gov., so they put all their eggs in one basket so too speak in hoping the UPC would win the election. Given all the OHV clubs are under the AOHVA umbrella in Alberta I am sure they will be working hard to get this implemented.Pipster wrote:Okay, now that Kenny is in, how do we ensure this plan moves forward?
It was a great day for us singletrack riders yesterday.

I am also for the $30 fee. I'm also the type of guy that would call out other riders in the parking lot for not getting one. This just makes too much sense.

Where do we start with the new regime ? I’ll volunteer some time either with RMDRA or under AOHVA...
