Actual Bike only trails:

Region
A1 NONE
A2 NONE
A3 NONE

B1 NONE
B2 2 trails
B3 NONE

C1 NONE
C2 NONE
C3 NONE

Now, i am unsure but i thought Bikes can also use quad and truck trails, Quads can use truck trails also. But the biggest thing i see is 2 singletrack trails.

i think the trucks and bikes got hammered!!!!!

We did indeed and what is worse is that this will be the template for all of Alberta.

what did he say?

Anyone going out this weekend and in the future keep in mind they have an inventory of our trails. Be very carefull!!
What you do and where you do it.

Just my opinion.

I am thinking about boycoting Canadian Tire and not shopping there because they sell motorcycles and quads that are not members of the mmic and do not donate funding to our cause and land issues. I am thinking of writing them and asking if they are aware of what is going on before I make any more decisions. I have other issues as well but this is the first that come to mind.

Thumperdaryl can you comment?

This is a very tough decision for me because they are one of my favorite stores.

OHV users claim the managed trail network map in the plan designates trails of only approximately 10 kilometres for four-wheel drive use. What is the amount identified in the plan?
In the current designated trail network, there are 52 kilometres of identified 4x4 (truck) access.
There are also 223 kilometres of industrial roads that are available for 4x4 access for registered on-highway vehicles.
The designated trail network is the staring point for the creation of an adaptive trail management method … that addresses the environment, public safety and user needs.

WHAT INDUSTRIAL ROADS ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT???

What is the amount of trails identified for recreational users?
At the present time, 627 kilometres of trail have been identified for recreational use, up from the original 180 kilometres of snowmobile trail formally identified in the late 1980s.

SNOWMOBILE TRAIL??????

CRITERIA USED IN SELECTING WHAT TRAILS WE WERE GIVEN --
Public Safety
Minimize user conflicts (users; industrial/commercial/recreational users/general public / motorized / non-motorized).

YEAH AND A BIKE WILL MAKE A GREAT HOOD ORNAMENT ON THE MONSTER TRUCK TOO!!!

Lisa, its time to give up the finger pointing, we all got painted with the same brush. The 56kms that trucks got are trails that a stock 4x4 truck with your bike in the back can do. The trucks got killed just as badly as the bikes did with singletrack.
There was no user conflict until the SRD got involved and caused division. The 4x4 groups have NEVER pointed fingers at anyone. We all need to unite as this plan basically states that bikes are unwelcome on singletrack in Alberta and trucks are not welcome on any trail/cutline that has increase in elevation....ie; hills.
i know your pissed and should be, but the finger pointing has to stop. Remember 20% of all bikes, quads and trucks are the problem, not the 80% that get along.

And besides when was the last time you ever saw a truck or quad on the singletracks we do. Never, we were unaffected but now highspeed quads and us (bikes) on the same trails could be a disaster.
Lisa, its far from over and we will fight this nonsense that the government has called a solution
