flywheel weights

Post by Roach »

Can you guys recommend some good brands for flywheel weights, where to get them and ease of install for an 06 YZ250F please? I've heard about a 10oz weight is good?

Easy to install, just need a flywheel tool (which you probably can get).

As for weights you have me beat..

Maybe you could research how much extra weight is on a WR 250 flywheel and use that as a basis for weight?

Steahly makes fylwheel weights and if you are riding mostly bush I would recommend a 14 or 16oz if they have it.They can only build them so big for each bike accoding to fit. I can get you that flywheel if you are interested.

The WR 250 F uses different cams and ignition mapping- it would not act the same as the engine is designed less aggressive on the WR- I had a fully tricked out 02 YZ250F and the big flywheel (16oz?) was barely noticable except it helped with stalling

I would definitly buy it but only for the improvement for stalling at low rpm-it saved a lot of restarts

I had a WR with the YZ Cam and YZ ignition. Kind of like a YZ with a WR flywheel. It worked great offroad, made it stall much less than a YZ would but also reved a bit slower which translated into traction instead of wheel spin.

I'd recommend the heavier flywheel weight.
