GPS Units - what's best?

Post by crazy2wheeler »

Hey guys (including girls!). I'm thinking about getting a GPS unit - for spring, anyway. What's the best make/model to get, and why? Is a color unit preferable? Where's the best place to buy/order from, and what's the best mounting set-up - and where to buy it also? :read:

Thanks in advance for the info! :dblthumb:

I use Garmin units for work and they seem to be the most user friendly and have the most available add-ons. Wal-mart is probably the cheapest to buy from but if you want a lesson in one models features vs another then go to MEC and talk to the person behind the counter. They are very well informed and I do believe they offer courses on how to use them.

Since MEC is actively anti-dirt-bike, why go there?
In any case, you'll get better info from GPS Central

GPS Central

Garmin GPSMAP 60 CS

or

Garmin GPSMAP 76 CS

You may as well be compatible with the Government systems so you map trails in the future :D
