Rad fluid additives?

Post by MotorEd »

What does everyone use? do you add that Redline water wetter stuff or Engine Ice? If so, how much do you add?

Thanks,

Water Wetter works good. Just a couple of ounces in the rad should do it. WR Dave.

Not bike related but I have an old Chevelle with a Big Block in it and the running temp dropped 20 deg. fahrenheit after putting in the prescribed amount of water wetter and doing nothing else. The formula is supposed to enhance the heat transfer from the engine metal to the coolant through some sort of silicone based additive in it. That was the sales pitch that I got anyway , but I do know that this product works. I doubt it will help if there is a mechanical reason for overheating but in a normally operating system it works well. Good luck-WR Dave.
