'05 KTM EXC200 FORKS

Post by DirtGirl »

hey Rooster....my dad bought a new bike and he says the front forks are too harsh. I recall you and Trudy having a conversation at Moose about it and you told her to take some oil out of the tubes. Could you reiterate the info for me so I can pass it along to the "SpeedySenior".
Ah ha!!

First set the sag!!!- then recheck the sag!!- Did I mention the sag?- Always the first and most important measurement!!- then if you have set the clickers to the recommended starting position- adjust softer until that no longer works--- running the fork oil height down to it"s minimum will soften the initial stroke- low speed compression. You would need to take the forks off and set the oil level according to the manual"s minimum setting, then reinstall. Usually this is a minor improvement and softer springs are needed-have fun
IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MANY HOURS YOU PUT IN. IT MATTERS WHAT YOU PUT IN THE HOURS!!!
