Do you lube your throttle tube?

I was watching this video about servicing the throttle on the Racer X website: https://racerxonline.com/2018/07/25/fac ... ottle-tube. The mechanic lubes the throttle tube with grease and oil. Just curious, is that common practice around these parts?

I don't use any lube. Just clean it out every now and again. I used to put a little oil in the tube when I was a kid, but stopped a long time ago because dirt would always build up in it fast.

I'll point out this guy was servicing a MX bike with closed end grips. With closed end grips, it's a maybe as the throttle tube is fairly well sealed. With bark busters and open end grips, it would be a different story.

I don't lube mine, but I do find that removing and cleaning the throttle tube occasionally helps in the feel of it. I also am a big fan of the ODI grips that come bonded onto a new throttle tube. They are a cheap replacement and provide a smooth feeling throttle.

Run clean and dry.
