Penny Tech - bib mousse longevity

Post by malcolmzilla »

To either extend the service life of a used mousse, or firm up the feel in larger carcass tires, I have been adding closed cell foam strips (common at hardware stores in the insulation section) to the drop center of the rim.

Does require a bit more finagling of technique at bib changes to get the bead seated.
So far works well, I didn't grab a pic, but the foam that comes out at changes is for the most part intact.

Another technique it so cut out the torn piece of the existing mousse, and restuff with a cut out from an old mouse. The new mousse piece should be about 2" longer than the old piece you removed.

Great videos. I have used this technique in front mousse's but I'm gonna use it in rears also.
