KTM Brake Pedal - 2016 KTM 350XCF
Anyone had issues with breaking brake pedal tips off?
I've had 2 break in the last month and one occurred half way through the first 50klm loop of Porkies yesterday which really sucked.

No. I have a 16 KTM 350 too. The stocker still looks good at ~80hrs.
Maybe yours is bent out a bit? Or maybe my TMD skidplate helps redirect hits? Maybe try a brake snake?
How is yours breaking? E.g. where it bolts to the lever or does the tip snap elsewhere.

Pretty sure the tip of the pedal is getting smashed off by rocks or stumps. Just ordered one that is spring return like the gear shift.
The tips both broke at the area where it bolts to the pedal.

I have 160hrs and no issues. The brake snake won’t save the tip from braking off. I sheared the leaver clean off at the pivot on a willow so now I run a homemade brake snake. If you hit the tip that hard I am amazed you haven’t poked a hole in your cases or broken your foot. I also run a p3 skid plate

The brake pedals are fragile. There are 3 sizes that fit the newer bikes from KTM. The 2 stroke pedal is the smallest. The 4 stroke pedal is medium sized and the PowerParts pedal is large.
I always break the large one. I run the medium one on my 250XC and I seem to be able to avoid breaking it off.
The small pedal would be very difficult to break off.
The pedals are cheap from KTM but they aren't made of steel like the old ones (bendable).

I had the stock steel one that had cracked and then I bought the large power parts one. It only lasted two rides.

I seem to recall that KTM lengthened the lever for '16 by 10mm. This would place it further ahead and make it less shrouded by the frame/skid plate making it more likely to take a hit.
I haven't broken mine yet but when it does happen I plan to replace the entire lever and tip with the older version from the '15. I believe it should be a direct fit but they have to be changed together since the tip and lever are both different from 15 to 16. The shorter lever is prefered, by me at least, since I find it easier to reach on down hills or other times when riding more on the balls of my feet.
Please keep us posted on what you find to fix your issue.

Ok the tusk brake pedal with a spring return was really bulky around the tip due to the spring mechanism.
Lasted two rides before I bent it like a banana.
I'm going back to the stock brake pedal with an enduro engineering tip... Looks like I also busted my KTM hard parts skid plate.. So I have one of those TMD skid plates on the way.
I think its me and not the parts...

Damn I'm already committed to the TMD skid plate. I'll see what I can do to beef up the area near the linkage. As for the tip.. The one I ordered is stainless steel. Hopefully it doesn't snap off like the aluminum ones I have tried.

That brake step pedal Dobi suggested looks good and it looks adjustable rearward for smaller feet.

Since I so confidently boasted that my stock tip was holding solid at 80 hrs I thought I would post an update: I broke off my tip maybe 10hrs later during the MRSI race.
I ended up making a replacement out of some scrap steel. Certainly no featherweight (or beautiful piece of custom machining ) but I made it in about 20 minutes when i got home so I could still ride the next day. I suspect it's much stronger than either the stock tip or the aftermarket aluminium ones.
Maybe I need to write a penny tech article?
