Penny Tech KTM Front Sprocket Guard Mod

Post by Rider Eh! »

Alright time for me to contribute as it's been a while. This one's free to do.

What I've been doing for years is trimming the front sprocket chain guard so that mud/skag/grass etc. clears out and washes out more easily. Just use a standard hack saw and trim to your liking.

Nice work. I do the same mod to mine, but do it on the bike with a pair of sidecutters. No need to remove bolts as the plastic is fairly soft.

Interesting, I may take a look at that shortcut next time. Just a note though to check the bolt on the backside of the frame that bolts the top of the slider, mine was loose from factory so I put a bit of the blue goop on it. That was a tip to me from dirtyboy.

Yep, I've lost that inside bolt before. Also, the inside bolt on the smaller, lower chain slider has been an issue from the factory for me. Tighten and loctite them both.
