Hey All, thinking I'm going to buy a set of bibs. I've heard the Michelin is good, has anyone used the 3D mousse, nitro mousse or techno mousse? What the best mousse to go with?

I run the Michelin enduro style bibs.

I prefer a firm front feel, so I use a star cross 5 80/100-21 front with the 90/90 bib. Rear I am running the 100-110 bib In a starcross 5 110/100-18 due to dual sporting a bit. Lots of soap/lube. If you only plod around locally in the lumpy stuff then you might prefer the 110 Michelin bib in a 120 size rear, bit more compliant.

I get ~60 hours out of a set. You can somewhat extend the life of a bib when it gets old by wrapping closed cell foam strips in the drop center of the rim at tire changes.

The dead feel, crashing stuff and no flats, tools patches etc to carry is a strong point.

We haven't had amazing reviews on the techno mousse- for every guy that loves them, I have one that hates them. You can save a bit of money that way though. The Michelin Bibs are a good seller and I've never had a warranty issue with them. Seems to be the way to go!

Michelin bibs front and rear they are fantastic

Buddies have tried other brands with mixed results. I stick with the michelins because I now know what tires they fit, how to tune the feel, and the overall durability, given the install effort and expense i stick with what I know. Everybody says they're expensive, but it's really not that much more cost over ultra heavy-duty tubes, comparative to tubliss, and when you pull the Michelin's out of the box they actually are quite light.

I also forgot to mention that we have run the michelins in Baja at speed. Again tire selection and starting with a new mouse and a ton of soap is key. On my 570 solely dual sporting I am running Michelin up front in a maxxis 80/100-21 desert it, that is also a good tight combo. 2000 km in and 3 years (lame btw) still good although it does flat spot from sitting lol.

The closed cell foam in the drop center trick got my buddies quite wore out Michelin good for another 20 plus hours. $10 for like 10' at lowes. Also works for helping firm up the really tall volcanduro tires I stud for winter. I don't know that I'd trust it for high speed use though.

I cannot find it, but we have a picture somewhere of a broken off stick that went through the sidewall and into a bib, and my buddy rode on it and we never noticed until we changed the tire LOL

Now to save up for a rabaconda.
