I somehow thought my 2017 300 XC-W came with a spark arrestor. It doesn't.
What are the downsides of using a spark arrestor cap rather than a new silencer?

Re: KTM 2T Spark Arrestor
Usually, the spark arrester cap is a screen type which plugs up quickly on a 2 stroke. I just got an FMF Turbine Core II spark arrester and it has no screen but some type of bullet apparatus inside the silencer. I like the sound.

Re: KTM 2T Spark Arrestor
As Dirtyboy said, the caps tend to plug up on 2 strokes with spooge, and I found on 4 strokes it would actually plug with packing material over time. There is no downside, other than cost, to running a nice and quiet UFS approved spark arrestor on the 300. I run the FMF turbine core and have never had issue with it. I also should note that I never did anything to my jetting between silencers either.
