Jetting in General

Post by darren »

I have a 04 KTM 300 MXC and have heard so many different things about jetting, needles, and spark plugs, that I don't really know what to think. I've swapped bikes with Brent for a few minutes and found that my bike (despite the fact I reverted to stock jetting and stock plug) runs cleaner on the low end, but is a little shallow on the mid to high end. I like the really clean bottom, but was wondering if somehow I can get the mid to high a bit stronger. Any suggestions.

Check out ktmtalk.com in the jetting section for help. My guess is that stock would be too rich especially in the middle. I had to go to a leaner slide, 6 to a 7, to get my 300 to work. My guess is a needle change is needed for your bike. Did you not get a leaner needle with the bike? JD Jetting makes great kits for KTM's also.
