I have had nothing but grief with this place for the last 2 years. I would highly recommend staying away from them. I have given up on them ever getting my battery issue solved. They even sent my wife home with the wrong batteries at one point. I should have kept them, perhaps they would be better than the duds they left me with.RJHenry wrote:A n D Batteries http://www.affordablebatteryspecialist.ca/ offers a Battery Tender brand lithium ion that is about 130 IIRC. I have bought two for our bikes, and a couple friends have them also... one has died after 18 months but they are working with me on warranty. Your mileage may vary.cerealkiller wrote:Gnarly parts has cheap Tusk batteries. Same as stock though - not any lighter. Probably around $30 for your bike. Up to you if saving a pound is worth the extra $200 it will cost for lithium.

Re: 07 KTM 250 XCFW Questions
So after this weeks club ride it is clear I need to have someone take a look at the top end of my bike. More smoke then ever.
Anyone know a good backyard mechanic or best rates at the bigger shops?
Thanks
GW

What colour is the smoke? White and it's almost surely your head gasket. Blue/black and you can bet it's your piston rings and/or valve seals. If you bring it to Houston I'll fix it for ya.

It's definelty Blue smoke!
The boys I made choke on it Wednesday night could attest to that.
I contemplated cracking it open myself, but with a baby on the way I figure it might be better to have someone take care of it instead of having the garage covered in bike parts for the summer.
If anyone was willing to take on this project I would greatly Appreciate it and pay for your time.
Next question, does anyone have an old front rotor off their KTM I could use to compare to the rotor I need for these DNA Racing rims? I was looking at a couple bikes Wednesday night that measures damn close to the bolt patten needed. The parts gal at cycle works foothills says it's worth a shot but they don't have one in stock as she runs DNA rims. Thoughts?

Do you have a really old set of DNA wheels? Not sure what the issue is with the rotor?GWsXR250R wrote:It's definelty Blue smoke!

I have had two DNA wheelsets and on both I have mounted the stock KTM OEM rotors.
Re: 07 KTM 250 XCFW Questions
Rims were on the bike when I bought it. Not sure Of the year of them. I'm going to pull the rotor off again and take to cycle works in town. See if they will compare it to a couple.
Glad to hear there is a chance!

Front rotor issue resolved!
Between my lack of knowledge and the new guy behind the parts desk the stock rotor I compared the first time was for the rear tire.
I realized this after doing some digging. 220mm on the back 260mm on the front. for whatever reason their system showed the front and rear rotor being the same size.
Live you learn!
