Currently I stud IRC Volcanduro fronts 80-100-21 with Grip Stud #1740, and stuff it with a used Michelin 90/90-21 bib mousse. The volcanduro is a large fitting and soft tire.
I would like to try a smaller front tire that the bib fills a bit firmer ( for a feel of more tire "pressure"), but also has enough lug for the 1740 studs to seat into. The 90/90-21 Michelin's don't look to have enough "lug"?
Suggestions? Thanks.

Re: front tire suggestions
I've got a Metzler MC4 front that I bought to stud. Haven't done it yet though.

Re: front tire suggestions
I plan to try a bridgestone battle cross 40 for my front when I get there. I ran it this summer and found it held up remarkably well in the rocks and has a good pattern.
Re: front tire suggestions
Bridgestone M403 now updated as the X30. That's what I use and it works very well.

Re: front tire suggestions
thanks guys
i see those tires are 80/100's
i don't suppose you run bib's in them to know if its a "firm" fit/feel?

I run a bib in the winter and it works well.
