I have a couple rides in on the Freeride, and have been very happy overall with the bike. It's lightweight makes it easy to manage compared to bigger more powerful bikes. I've been riding trails off and on for a long time, but I'm closer to the beginner end of the spectrum for riding skills. The Freeride inspires confidence in practicing new techniques and tackling obstacles. I think it will help me learn more quickly, and become a better rider. Or it will give me a false sense of awesomeness, and I'll snap a leg trying something stupid. Either way, I'll be out there having fun. Its definitely down on power higher in the rev range, but the strong power down low is great for chugging along twisty trails. There are pros and cons, compromises made, but for me and the terrain I like to ride, its a good choice. See you on the trails.
