2010 Ktm 250 xc-w fork seal

Post by Rilles1 »

Hey guys,

Second year member , love this club. I will say though even with self- taught bike knowledge , the thought of repairing a leaking fork seal is intimidating . I forsure don't have the right tool ( seal driver ). I live in Cochrane , I'm just going to throw it out there , but if anyone was willing to show me , or even just give some tips and let me borrow a seal driver , it would be really appreciated . I'm not sure if I have closed or open cartridges yet.

Thanks guys

Riley

Quite sure the XC-W came stock with OC forks. Post a pic of the top cap on the fork and I can confirm. Change the oil in both forks when you do you get around to fixing the seal. Fork oil does get contaimiated and wear out.

They are open chamber forks for sure. Have you tried cleaning the seal? I have had good luck with doing this with a seal mate or something similar. If you want I can lend you the seal mate, cap wrench and oil level tool, I don't have a seal driver though. Send me a PM

I have a seal driver tool if need be. Just bring by your forks and it only takes 30seconds.
