Premix ratio

Post by wheels13 »

Just wondering what you are using for premix ration on a 2011 KTM 250XC, the manual says 1:60.

I am using 40:1 on a 2014 Husky TE 250. Manual says 60:1 here too. My thinking is that no one ever wrecked an engine using too much oil but you have to jet it for the change cause so far I got a bit of spooge. I might even go to 32:1 and see how it runs.

Exactly....pick a ratio and jet accordingly. Might as well try 30:1 because measuring 500mls of oil to 15 liters of petrol (your average jerry can size) is so much easier than 32:1 and the difference is almost insignificant.

I run 60:1 Motorex without any issues. If my air screw is perfect then no spooge but most rides a bit of spooge. I run 100:1 Optimol on my trials bike with no issues.

Oil is expensive and I'm cheap!
