Question for Oil Gurus

Post by boland »

I went to pick up some premix and might have been in a bit of a rush and accidentally grabbed motul 800 road racing. Should I return it? or is there really much of a difference between this and the off road version? If its ok to use I would like to avoid a trip just to exchange it.

It has a higher viscosity index AND a higher flashpoint. The 800 off road oil is already "messy" for our type of riding. Probably never get the roadrace stuff to even burn.

Interestingly the off road version recommends 50:1 for racing, the on road 32:1. May be worth taking it back.
I have some spare 800 u can pick up while retrieving "other items" if you need it....

Is that what you use 37? I used to use amsoil intercepter only because canadian tire sold it which was convenient but they don't carry it anymore.
