Tire Disposal

Post by Bark »

I've been lax in disposing of tires and have, well, a few used tires that I need to manage. What is the best way to dispose of them? Tire shops take them? Bike shops take them? It doesn't seem right to me to take them to the dump as they ought to be recyclable.

Anyone know?

The dump has an area for tires at the "throw and go". They send them away to be recycled.

Yes, they are free to get rid of ( out here anyway) as the recycle fees are charged when new. I just took some to the transfer facility in Langdon.

I took mine to my local tire shop and asked if I could toss them in their pile. They were ok with it, as their used tires are picked up under the tire recycling program.
The tire recycling throw and go is a good option, but found this is much more convenient.
