New Yamaha
New Yamaha
Our Yamaha rep told us yesterday that they are coming out with a new competitive off road bike! It will be unveiled at the dealer meeting on Oct. 14. That is all he said about it.

Re: New Yamaha
200kg, it says right on the CARB document...
I'm interested to see this too. If it's like the new yzf with estart and a 6 speed and isn't a porker it could be a great bike.

200kg is the EIM (equivalent inertia mass) value, not the weight of the bike. That's 440 lbs btw...

Re: New Yamaha
That can't be right. That's like 440 lbs.
Edit: we must've been typing at the same time.

15kW = 20hp, must be torquey, good for the bush.

was supposed to be a joke......200kg is the EIM (equivalent inertia mass) value, not the weight of the bike. That's 440 lbs btw...

Re: New Yamaha
I was told 300 2T from a CW fella, I wont mention names as pretty sure he works with Cladoo.....
Bikeless....
Re: New Yamaha
I hope those CARB docs reference the WR250 for 2015, and cladoo is right about the 2s.
Eventually someone at one of the "big 4" (what a joke nowadays) is going to get tired of looking at a sea of orange.
has KTM and Husqvarnas' foray into MX poked the bear? as a consumer I sure hope so.

Re: New Yamaha
I can't see Yamaha developing a brand new engine just for off-road bikes. I'm predicting a off-road modified 250f based on the fuel-injected MX bike.
Maybe it's the pessimist in me, but since the WR450f weighs 28.5lbs more than the 450 and (before all the emissions stuff is removed) has way less power, I expect the same will be true for this new 250f.
So 231lbs + 28.5lbs in off-road gear = 259.5lbs for this new machine and it will make ~30-35hp.
Those are my predictions.
