Found some Trelleborg winter tires
The only Mitas motorcycle tire distributor in Canada, MX1 will not be distributing Mitas Winter friction tires this year
Any one interesed in doing a order of Mitas Winter friction tires from the US? This guy does free shipping in the US. Just putting it out ther if some else is needing winter tires and frequents the border...lets put in a order and get ready for our long cold winter riding season .

Anyone run the Michelins, or the hoo flung dungs, err, I mean Cheng Shins? Markedly cheaper...
I'll be (re)building grip studs again this year, got caught last winter with the Mitas being out of stock so I have a surplus...

Hi Malcolm - I'd like to do some winter riding on studs this year, but will probably bring tires I already have back from Oklahoma and stud them myself - I'd be interested in some joint stud purchases, though.

Do you get the ones that are Mitas Comp or Mitas Pro or does it matter at all?

Re: Found some Trelleborg winter tires
My buddies get 2-3 or more winters out of the regular Mitas.
Art I have enough studs to build my other set, but not for a 3rd.
Dean at Blackfoot direct can set you up with studs and a tool.
Tire choice is also important, the 1740 front stud and 1800R rear studs typically used here, in my mx 51's, 756's, have all thrown or chunked, and can seat too deep and puncture (my tubliss oozed a bit of slime from a stud here and there). The IRC Volcanduro front and M5B rear Dean advised have seated fully and held up great. Go two sizes narrower in the rear with the KTM (ie 110 instead of a 130), the chain slap of the PDS setup seems to knock studs off a nomal width tire. Japanese bikes seem ok with a wider studded rear.
The 1300 series "shoulder season" studs I am going to order look like they will seat well in any used tire, but likely are not adequate once the snow gets deep and hard.

Re: Found some Trelleborg winter tires
This is really turning into a technical topic. Moving to technical....
Re: Found some Trelleborg winter tires
That seller will ship to Canada if you go to his eBay store. Shipping looks to be about $40 per tire.axel99 wrote:The only Mitas motorcycle tire distributor in Canada, MX1 will not be distributing Mitas Winter friction tires this year

Re: Found some Trelleborg winter tires
Hey Everyone,
I have been in touch with the Mitas team in Europe and I am putting together a large order of tires. I just love those tires and cannot live without them so this is my only solution, lol. Each tire will be roughly $400 brandnew. They are the former Trelleborgs.
Can I get a show of hands on who would be interested in getting some tires in my order??
Thanks
Suz

Re: Found some Trelleborg winter tires
Does that include any shipping cost or is that extra?
Re: Found some Trelleborg winter tires
Pretty sure shipping would be more but the prices are not set in stone. I should have more info next week and could firm up pricing.
