2009 WR450F street reg'n / dualsported

Post by malcolmzilla »

It’s an 09, around 4000km, most of the kms are dual sporting, second owner. I bought it with 132km, bone stock with throttle stop and pea shooter, the oil and filter were clean, then went completely through it and set it all up ($ and time) to dualsport, and for our recent Baja trip.

Has current street registration, insurance and a nice dual sport kit.

I am OCD about maintenance and setup : Valves in spec, synthetics more frequently than manual specs, filters always changed, plug checked, always lubed, and its jetted perfectly (40+ mpg and lots of power, no popping, no bog, plug looks great).

I would sell it for $4900 for the “base” bike:
  • stock suspension with fresh fork oil
new Maxxis Desert IT’s (or darn good Metzler Six days, or Michelin S12's)
JD jetted for 3000-6000', flexjet mixture screw
    NGK iridium plug
fully decorked (big tip, snorkels opened, gray wire mod)
floated ground DC stator and TrailTech HD DC reg/rec (~100w dc lots of power)
    Guts comfort seat ($200)
dual sported, mini multifunction switch with LED hi/low indication, acerbis folding mirror, loud horn
    Zeta barkbusters with integrated signals
DRC flush mounts, UFO LED tail and brake
    Scorpion full rad guards
    Acerbis composite skid
    Scotts stainless oil filter
    PMB 96db tip
    TMD glide, guide and rollers
    heated grips
    new chain and 14/50 sprockets
and more I’m sure I’ve forgotten
and throw in a ton of spares (fresh filters, bearings, 13 and 12T sprockets, fork seals, plugs, full set of extra blue and black plastics and taillight, stock glide, guide, etc)
Extras available for cheap, and I am willing to set it up however the buyer prefers:
  • 3.3 gallon Acerbis tank
1.25 gallon side panel tank (this was a big fabrication job, but works awesome)
    PMB shark fin
Fluidyne radiators and high pressure cap, over $600 new
BRP Scotts dampener submount and post (no dampener)
    Tubliss tube less system
    spare levers and shifters
    big boy suspension (54/6.2) – 230 lbs
    Shorai lithium battery (~2lbs)
Great bike. Buddy took his to 14,000+ km with just regular maintenance, and its still running great.

Selling to go to a 500/501 for spring (which may be a mistake on my part  ).

Valves just checked and all within spec, new NGK iridium (old one perfect tan), getting some fresh synthetic and filters, new sprockets and chain, and then a set of studs and ready for test rides. Stock tank and black plastics.

Back in trail form, remebered to snap some quick pics for those requesting.

New x-ring RK chain and 12/50 sprockets for winter work. Fresh 5w40 Amsoil and filters. Bearings, brakes and everything checked out. Studs on as well. :D

Loaned to a buddy to come with this weekend. Switched the dualsport lights on and folded the mirror out, meant we could stage right off the blacktop and ride em on the foresty roads to the trailhead. :D

Having a WR450 of his own, he commented that the Guts seat is super comfy, the big boy springs make it handle great, and the heated grips are the bomb.

Also found a Motion Pro light pull clutch cable to go on it.

4190km. I really like this bike. :crybaby:

$4500, will throw in the big tank ($200) and Fluidyne rads ($600) for RMDRA members.

Needs nothing, my "B bike", overmaintained, and kept good to go (legitmately).
