2016 XC-F Wire Harness for Lights and Acc.

Post by axel99 »

I haven't seen a resonable priced plug and play wire harness for the 2016 250,350,450 XC-F's. I thought there may be some intrest in a ready made solution. These harness are built using high quality parts on par or better than KTM stock connectors. The harness plugs directlty into the existing wiring, no splicing or cutting and takes 30min to install. This setup is fused and only powered when the bike is running. Includes the main back harness and front harness. The front and back of the harness is seperated by a waterproof connector under the gas tank, so front harness can easily be swapped out to handle more that 2 accessories. It comes with a plug-in's for a head light and switch, taillight and a extra plug under the gas tank for whatever else needs power (grip heaters or Fan). Since the front harness is modular I can customize it quite easily or I can just leave long pig tails and you do whateve you want. Wrocks on the form is offering a bullet proof headlight mount(viewtopic.php?f=22&t=12008&hilit=headlight#p84080). The DRC tailight (http://drcproducts.com/elect/d45-29-30/index.html) is the best option I have found, its low profile and and really reccomend it, CycleWorks usually has them in stock.

In a effort to get as many people setup with decent lighting as possible I am offering the following for $175
- rear harness
- DRC tail light
- basic front harness(headlight plug /switch plug /1 extra plug-ins)
- Installation on a clean bike

I order and source parts as needed so it usually takes upto 2 weeks or more depending what else I have going on.

If you have any questions just post here I will try to get a few pics up soon.

This really is a great deal, and helps fix what can be a rather expensive issue! Great idea axel99!

Starting a run of 5 complete lighting harnesses this weekend. Planning to build a extra one for mock-ups but it will be for sale if interested. Also have a couple of TPS adjustment tools available. 100hrs on my 1st build and no problems. No longer offering a DRC taillight in the kit, but can wire up whatever you want to run. Planning to take a few more pictures of the build and install

This harness was designed to handle a total load of 15amps or 180watts at 100% duty cycle. If you have any questions please ask here. I think this harness should work on the KTM SXF and XCF bikes from 2013 to 2017. I can only guarantee it works on the 2016 xc-f. If you want to do a mock-up on your specific XCF or SXF bike shoot me a PM, I just dont have easy access to other model years. As I confirm fitment for other models I will update this post.

Posting the templates I used to make the headlight mounting bracket and cut the hole in the factory mask. You may need to scale the PDF when printing to get the poepor sizing. The measurements on the attached image can be used for a reference. You will need to fab a upper and lower bracket, The mounting tab need to be bent in opposite directions. See the previous pics for details

Axle,

Nice work on your wiring harness - great idea and super clean!!

Are you using the Canbus connection for a 12 volt DC source to turn a relay connected to the battery on and off or to actually power the headlight?

Would you send me a PM with a price just for a harness to connect a headlight?

Thanks!!!

I still have a harness, asking $100. That’s well below the cost of materials. These harness are made from top of the line components and relays. Any questions let me know work on all modern ktm xcf and sxf models

I have to say, I'm super happy with this harness on my XCF, it's a top quality piece.

Your asking price isn't more than the KTM fan harness, which is built in
