Winter riding in Porkies?

Post by Brass »

Has anyone been down to porkies in the winter to ride?

I'd be interested to know what the conditions would be like? With the soil type down that way, it would be great on studs.

Though I'm not even sure if it's legal to ride.

I believe its legal to ride all year there. I think it would be great riding, I know some people that ride there all winter. It's the spot of choice for the Lethbridge riders with studs. I'm hoping to get down that way for some riding this winter.

Anyone have some GPS tracks that they could send me?

I may try to get down there for a ride over the holidays.

John Bader and crew have been riding down there according to facebook, but the snow does look much deeper than the Ghost....

I will look to see what I have on file for GPS tracks....

Let me know too. I may have some GPS tracks at the office from a couple summer rides.
Love to come with!

The South loop is usually good to ride in winter. I would avoid going East of the campground in winter due to increased snow. If you can stay away from the rocks it is good.

Moving to Riding Areas....
