A bit of snow where theres shade most of the day, maybe and inch or a bit more. Anything in the sun is sloppy and muddy, still water has ice, but too thin to cross.
Due to the snow and ice, studs or screws are required, IMO. I can see why folks build a set of "shoulder season" studs, a bit more consistent freeze up will firm the more delicate areas soon I hope.
