Ride Conditions (Ghost or Mclean)

Post by Hendrix13 »

Anyone out riding today?
After the snow report for the area I decided to not go out for the day. Around Calgary it doesn't look as bad as I thought it might...is it any different in Mclean or out in the Ghost?

Thanks...

Been snowing in Banff since last night, so Ghost probably has snow 3 or 4" on the ground

I took a drive out to Little Elbow today, At McLean, probably an inch on the ground (at the highway). Powderface Trail had 6+ inches of snow on it.

We were riding from Fallen Timber campground on Saturday and there was 10-15 cm on the ground.
We also had flurries this morning in Cochrane, translates to accumilations in the Ghost area.

I was out deer hunting yesterday and there was 6" north of Fallen Timber.
On the drive home the snow accumulation disappeared arond South Ghost.

Riding on Saterday at Fallen Timber was an absolute blast, and a real challenge on rubber. There is lots of snow, but the ground is not frozen yet, so traction was good.

Cal showed me some of the pictures...looks like fun. Can't believe there's that much snow out.

Thanks for everyone's update...ended up insulating the Garage :)

John and Zeal where on rubber, nice work guys. This is a pretty tec trail in the snow with all the logs for rubber. I think more then one hidden log showed up that day. I was on 3M Velcro. Thanks again guys, that was good times. Once we connect all the reroutes this is going to be a very fun trail consisting of two loops. Hope we can get it done before any more snow flies, it would be nice to get it on the map for next year. :applause:

As of Oct 10 McLean has 6-8 inches of snow everywhere. It's almost full on trelleborg conditions. Hopefully in a week it will melt...

I'd be up for a Friday or Sunday ride (plans Sat).
Not sure if I can join in on the exclusive VetJr ride :nworthy:
Does it count if I plan on racing VetJr next season
