Radium Riding

Post by Dave P »

Hey Guys,

Im heading to Radium on the long weekend and going to take my bike with me.

Is there any legal places to ride out there?

I tried searching but came up with nothing.

Can someone shoot me directions, or a google map location, or something like that?

Thanks

You can ride "Rushmere" which is on the west side rd after you go through Invermere, it's about 5km down on your left. There is some limited riding in the Steamboat Mtn area. Mostly just bush riding, some trails. Stay off the down hill MTB trails, those guys get pretty angry if they see dirt bikes on "their" trails, even though it's on Crown Land. Lots of dirt rds back in there to explore, the bush is pretty open

Dave, I am working on a resort in invermere. I should be out there for the long weekend, i'm taking my bike with me next time I head out there. We should meet up and go exploring. I haven't been riding there before, but there some places that look like they'd be a hoot.

Cheers,
Alex

My wife and I went this weekend and toured around steamboat. From what I saw the riding could be a lot of fun. Flowing single track with the occasional hill to climb. I only had a chance to sample two of the single tracks I saw, as my wife is still learning. They where easy to find and well marked, defiantly worth taking your bike, I would go just for the day. I have some GPS points of the staging are and trail if any one wants.
As far as the mountain bike thing goes, if you can't see dirt bike tracks, try to stay of their trails. They kind of look at dirt bikes on their trails as we do quads on our trails, :awww: kind of a respect thing. I know they work just as hard to keep the trails in good shape as we do.
We spend a lot of time in the area , as my wife's Uncle has a cabin there. Dave / Alex we should hook up to do some exploring.

Cheers,

BLKRM,

I will try to get them up tonight, had to buy a new cable for my GPS. I do not have the hole trail, but it will get you started.

Cheers,

Just checking to see if those GPS points are still available? I'm heading out Radium way later this month and was hoping to check out the riding there, but have no clue where the trails are.

Thanks,
Andy

Also Paradise mine and the riding area at the south end of Invermere lake.

Keep in mind Paradise mind requires authorization to ride it. We simply asked 3 years ago and they were fine.

South lake area is hard to find. Little trail leading off into the bush.
