Is McLean Creek Open?

Post by TrialsPaul »

I have heard rumors that McLean Creek is not open to OHV's. Do anyone know the correct info?

Haven't heard anything since Wednesday's SRD press release.

We are going to try Mclean tomorrow (Saturday). If it looks bad we will probably pass. The plan is to unload at the middle or south lot and stay on the ridges and avoid the lows at all costs. Trails like Barwell etc are probably dusty already! :D Anyhow if you do go riding just use common sense and stay out of of the soft grass/skeg areas!

As of yeterday afternoon, the gate to the Maclean Road was closed due to complete washouts of the road at the 6 and 10 km mark.
Hopefully they re open soon.

So the winter closure gates are locked? Should still be able to access Barwell from the South lot. This is what we will try. If it looks bad we will turn around.

And the riding was surprisingly good on Saturday. A few torrential downpours and we were completely wet but the traction was fine.

I made a couple of pathetic half-hearted attempts and made it half-way. This was immediately after a downpour and the run in was a little soupy. The traction on the hill itself was fine.
