Snow Warning!

Post by Braap791 »

For anybody thats been staging from south fisher and riding the Barwell trail system please note that there is a light dusting of snow here or there on the main route. Dylans Diggs has no snow but if you decide to take westhills at the actual numbered turnoff that all the downhills had a little more than a light dusting making the hidden slippery logs entertaining for all. Also on lost in time there was a little bit of snow just before the creek crossing (before the uphill) but after that it was good to go!

There is a LOT on Swanys, and the ground is frozen a lot harder up there than it is in the lower elevations. I would not recommend going up there on rubber.

(We rode yesterday)

Some sticking on the shady side of the hills at Fallentimber yesterday, and a skim of ice on the standing water.

Similar conditions on most single track around the 5K staging. Ground still soft in most areas but it will freeze up in a couple days. High in Mclean today was around 4deg , really fresh!

Quirk and Barwell had quite a bit. Still rideable though.

Bob and I did Pecker Poles down through the gully to Swanys but wussed out at the top of Swanys (didnt feel like doing the ugly little downhill in the snow). Finished off with J2skidoos which was in great shape. 50k = good day!

Im still hoping for a few more knobby rides before the Trellies go on.

Rode McLeans last Saturday and the light dusting of snow from Thursday night was gone, but it was EARLY SPRING wet!!! Oh, and those puddles are cold when you take a dive in them.
