VOLUNTEERS FOR DIRTY MOOSE

Post by cycleworks »

As most of you are aware, our race is coming up quickly! August 13th and 14th are the dates, and we are looking for volunteers!
If you, or anyone you know would like to volunteer, I would love to hear from you, and get things organized!
Its difficult to operate on a "so and so always helps" basis, so I will fill the spots with people I actually speak with! That being said, if your wife or friend or whoever usually helps, but does not have access to the site, please forward me their info!
One day, both days, anything is a big help!
Please contact me with ANY volunteer related question. I really appriciate any ideas or help that I can get!

I will do something on Saturday. The whole day is yours if you so require. I can sweep, or something sorta exciting.

i can help on Sunday (i work the Saturday). As 'our' sponsorship idea is a go, than i could be free to register people. i am limited due to my knee.
i also could help scan racers at midpoint and finish.

I was going to enter the race but think I need more practice (and a bike that runs properly) so I'm gonna volunteer. I am available friday, saturday, sunday and monday.

Course prep and flagging will happen August 9 - 12 and be staged at the Fallen Timber campground. Bring chain saw or hand saw (if you have them) and motorcycle for this task, however you must be able to ride the course to help out with this task (no beginners).

Course de-flagging (very important job) will be done on Aug 15. Again staging from the Fallen Timber campground. Bring a few plastic grocery bags for this task. It works really easy to tie the bag on the bars and stuff the ribbon in there. :-)

I'm sure I can ride the course but keeping up a race pace would be an issue for me, of course the biggest issue is the bike not liking to run hard for too long. Hopefully Ill have a better bike next year and can enter the race.

This is great!
Ok, what Im after at this point in great demand is an able bodied gentleman for both days (or two, or for one day, or whatever) to use as a "runner"... Any takers? Its not a riding job per say, but will still be lots of fun! And rewarding :)
PS. I LOVE volunteers :nworthy:
