krylon paint for plastic in aerosol from Cdn. tire - 6 bucks. Dries pretty quick. They also have 6" vynil numbers in black (and maybe white too, just never looked for white as I don't need them)- also 6 bucks. They also have A's and B's in the same isle as the number kits.

Was out working with Dirtyboy yesterday. Things are coming together. A few creek crossings should stand up much better.

Also, got some of the flagging done. Dirtyboy is an expert at flagging at speed.

Thanks Steve...I moved so that number isn't valid any longer. I'll get it updated.

i forgot...when i say wet, it was because we were getting rained on and the ground became wet. The start of the day it was sunny and the ground had no puddles, so i guess wet is subjective.

Thanks very much to all the RMDRA'rs for putting together a fantastic race - Dirtyboy for planning the course, and he plus about 2 dozen others for putting in hundreds (probably nearing or over 1000) of hours for clearing and reclaiming trail that the race was run on, Brennan for organizing, all those who swept, and in many cases opted not to race so that some advanced riders would be sweeping, and of course the charming wives and ladies who always help out on race day with sign-in and timing (thanks Renee, Andrea, Tracy et al.)!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

It was a fantastic race!

Awesome race! It was great to ride some of those old trails again. The hill climb after the check certainly sorted out a few riders :smirk:

It was great race that came off with no lost or badly injured riders. And RMDRA was well represented with our own Dirtyboy winning his class by about 50km. :D

A quick pick from the pro start (Jack Sawatzky with the holeshot and Luke Sydor deciding it's quicker to ride in the air).

I finished!

I really, really enjoyed the event. My body is in utter agony today but I finished! No single challenge on that race was insurmountable; in fact, I estimate that it was all super rideable but at my skill & fitness level it was all I could do to finish. But, I did every foot of it myself. That was like Olympic Gold for me guys!

I was taking a break after the first checkpoint and a helper came down to tell the checkpoint team to tell any remaining riders that this was one very nasty hill and that some may consider taking an easy out. I thought that might be a sign to check out but then I told myself there is no way I'm not attempting this hill. It was helpful that I knew it was a nasty hill. I made it to where the helpers were hanging out and fizzled out 50m from the top in one go. I took that little loop, had a power bar, then went on up. Thats nice to have a 500 when faced with a big hill.

I would like to thank Zeal and the RMDRA spokesperson (sorry, don't know that guy) at the last checkpoint for not making me go back and do that log. They told me that I would DNF if I didn't go back and do that log. There was no way I was leaving without a t-shirt and if a DNF meant no t-shirt, then I was going back to do that log. Then they let me off the hook.

Thanks to all the volunteers and trail clearing teams for putting on an outstanding event!

Cheers,
Aaron
