2007 XC Trophies

Post by DirtGirl »

I have a question to ask regarding trophies....

Does everyone want to go with the log trophies we did at the HS?
What about the other trophies and kids, do we still want to go with the recycled ones or just get new ones made?

Cladoo and Bill we need to get on this asap!! Time is ticking!!

The logs are really cool. if we can recycle trophies, we should. i know the vet classes always appreciated the old school trophies that were recycled. maybe the new ones for the kids.....what ever works though, not a big deal either way. medallions for the rest of the kids too please.

The medallions for the kids are in-hand.

DirtGirl and I will converse tomorrow regarding tuning up the existing set of reusables she has gathered. I have extra fix'em up bits of hardware left from the hare scramble trophy rebuilding to get things started.

If I recall correctly, we did not need many more to complete the whole set based on how may DG had already collected. I'll PM dirtyboy right now to arrange scooping his reusables and that will likely top up the necessary count.

Is everything still coming along with the trophies? Bill do we need to line up a limo to ensure you arrive on time?

Bill has been on holidays this past week. I have a message in to him to let me know what is up. But it sounded like he had is under control. We might have a tag sticking session this week, but looks good!

Bill knows that he has to be there Saturday......I will send him 1000000000000000 messages to make sure!! LOL!

Bill, you'll never live that one down!!! LOL!!!!!

Man! You make one tiny, little mistake...and, nobody wants to be your friend anymore. You guys are tough! Sure glad I didn't overlook something critical like bringing the beer or similar.

I gotta log in here a bit more often to put up a better defence! :wall:

Dobi, I appreciate the Limo offer, but my truck has been running much better recently. In addition to the trophies, I may even appear with a motorcycle this time out!

...on Saturday morning...and again on Sunday morning even...

As Lisa alluded, I was away last week, but wheels were already in motion. When returned Friday, I picked the remaining bits required to revive the recycled items. Then, I luckily caught a nasty flu on Sunday, so I had plenty of time, during periods of consciousness while home from work Monday & Tuesday to perform all the remaining tasks to bolt on new pieces, slap on the new tags, and shine'm up.

All the medallions and trophies are set to launch. Deliver to race pending... :D

BTW!!! The club owes Dave a large hug and a couple beers... & likely a rum as well for the beauty trophies he just let go to have recycled. They were all really new and really nice. I got tears in my eyes peeling off the labels for some damn nice finishes from which the roost has barely settled. Thanks Dave!

In addition, over the last two events, Lisa has sacrificed about half a lifetime's racing achievment awards in the trophies she returned to redistribute. Similar kudus should be passed her way in consideration of the letting go of the markers for such a large accumulation of achievement. Lots of front of the pack and high placings in her long term collection too. Thanks Lisa!

More thanks to anyone else who may have slid a few back to Lisa earlier on for this purpose. I took a look at some of mine from days gone by, but my knees started to buckle when I considered letting them go. Maybe some day, but not yet damn it!

See'ya Saturday (and yes, I will bring the trophies....and the medallions...and I'll be there early....sheesh!)
