Anyone interested in volunteering either Saturday/Sunday or both days please see Geoff Jilg at campsite #37. Geoff will be in campsite #37 from Tuesday August 9th thru the week.

:-)

If you could also put a quick note on this thread so we can get an idea on numbers.

As many of us know the Dupuis Family has spent countless hours fundraising for The Canadian Diabetes Association. The RMDRA would like to help with their fundraising efforts.

In honor of the Dupuis Family at the Dirty Moose Race on Saturday August 13, 2016 a donation made to RMDRA in support of the Canadian Diabetes Association will receive a raffle ticket to be entered for the opportunity to win some great prizes.

Watch for the box labelled The Canadian Diabetes Association throughout the day to make a donation and receive your raffle ticket. The draw will be made during the Saturday Adult Class awards.

$5 to $19 = 1 Raffle Ticket
$20 to $39 = 2 Raffle Tickets
$40 to $59 = 3 Raffle Tickets
$60 to $99 = 4 Raffle Tickets
$100 plus = 5 Raffle Tickets

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Dirty Moose Dirty Dozen 2016.

:)

Well folks, it's around the corner.

Things are coming together and it's shaping up to be one of the best yet. For anyone looking to volunteer please come and find me in campsite 37 in the lower loop, I'll be there Monday night through the end of the weekend.

We are always looking for people help with sign-in, scoring, sweeping, clean up of the meadow, deflagging etc. If you' re unsure, new help is always paired up with someone who's done it before, don't worry we won't "push you off the dock".

For racers new and old, you can expect two loops of awesomeness on Saturday. The course has a few challenging sections, but we really do try to make it as easy as possible. Sunday races have a focus on safety and fun, with great loops for the Peewee racers on up to Kids Expert and Ladies Intermediate. Hot dogs and smokies both days courtesy of our great friends at YB Quality Meats, and giveaways to all kids in Peewee classes. T-Shirts for all racers, tons of give-aways thanks to our generous sponsors, and trophies for all podium finishes will round out a great weekend. Nothing would make me happier than to see a bunch of new people come out and try it for the first time. As a well respected RMDRA guy once told me: "Racing is a trail ride where you don't have to wait for your buddies!"

A special highlight this year is a fundraiser for the Canadian Diabetes Foundation. We have collected some great prizes, and look forward to the generosity of the riding community to give back to a disease that affects people from all walks of life. We will be giving out tickets for your donation, and you won't have to be present to win.

People this year are coming from as far away as Ft. McMurray and even Texas. Let's all enjoy what really is some of the best riding on the Eastern slopes.

If you can make the club ride on Wednesday night, it may even include some race loop bits  Check the post under club rides, we'll update it before the event.

A huge THANK YOU! to all our sponsors and volunteers that have pulled together to get this years race to this point. It takes a small army of people to get it done.

I look forward to seeing as many of you out there as possible.

Geoff.

Just in town for a bit.

While there has been lots of rain the course was designed to be very sustainable and for the most part tacks up nicely with a couple hrs of sun. The forcast says we will have lots of that over the next 48hrs and the race is on.

We have been working very hard this week to make some minor changes so that everyone can have an enjoyable ride. The conditions as always in the Alberta foothills are demanding. Bring your game face.

GoLarge there has been some recent logging in that area so we have rerouted it. No trailer required.
