Revised Trail Clearing Day July 1 **Now July 11**
Revised Trail Clearing Day July 1 **Now July 11**
I wanted to hit the Mclean Creek club ride, But unfortunately we weren't able to get much done on the weekend. Sorry for the conflict, but mid-August is approaching fast.
If there are any takers, we could go and do a couple of hours of clearing, and then get out for a ride.
The spot that needs work has vehicle access right to the spot, so no bike required if you want to help out. The plan would be to meet fairly early at the campground, say 9:00 am, and head out from there.
Please post or PM.

30 degrees with a chainsaw on my back and working like a dog. My kind of way to spend Canada day. Count me in. I will have to formally back out of my volunteer duties at Mclean, but it didn't seem like my offer to lead was generating any additional interest....

It really wasn't much of a divide. I was the only one from the club that came forward to help Geoff. We took off from Fallen timber before 9am in the greasiest wettest conditions you could ask for and rode all of the new sections of trail cutting, slashing and flagging in the most amazing singletrack that thirtyseven could dream up . This years loop is amazing and has great flow.RJHenry wrote:I hate to divide, but hopefully we can divide and conquer.
For those of you that are coming to ride it. I left a few good logs in at about the 35km mark as I was out of water, had eaten all my energy bars and didn't feel like taking the chainsaw out of the backpack anymore. But the good news is, I did stop and clear out every log that I crashed on while riding tired, soaked and with fogged up goggles.

Guys I have to do a trip home to see the parents, hoping to be back by Saturday. If so, there is some work to do firming up the second loop.
Unfortunately I won't know till late Friday if I make it back...

Saturday July 11th works. Plan on being at Fallen Timber for 10:00AM. We will park in the day use area. Bring a saw if you have it, food, water and more food (for me...)
