Water Tank

Post by bikingagain »

So I am think of buying a 500+ gallon water container for my trailer and a shed to put it in. Maybe a Rubbermaid type shed about 8 x 6. Anyone have any experience with where to buy it, advice etc. Thanks

Check UFA for water tanks I think they are the cheapest.

Line the back of your pickup with a tarp, fill with water and "POW" yo have a Hillbilly hot tub.

Is this tank going to sit on your trailer? You do realize that 500 gallons of water is going to weigh in the vicinity of 4-5000 lbs right (depending on what kind of gallons you are talking)? Or is it just to sit in your yard and be used to fill up your trailer's water tank?

Just sitting in the yard to draw from.

Hmm hot tubbing with a bunch of dirt bikers in the back of my truck...sounds like a 37 and Scott thing :awww:

I think I have narrowed down the water tanks but now need a shed that is 8 x 8. I don't feel like building one from scratch, anyone know of a decent place to buy a plastic one?

Ok, it seemed like a bit of a dumb question. For me and all the other dummies, what is the advantage to having a water tank for this vs. just putting the hose in the trailer?

PS. sorry that none of this helps you solve your problem. I'm sure you could buy a small garden shed at any of the home centres, or probably real cheap off Kijiji.

No hose to hook up to. I have a few acres up by Pigeon Lake which is 99% trees. But I have a big ol trailer with a deck etc. for some camping with the family. With my two girls and the wife we go through about a tank of water a day and I am tired of going into town and fill my 6 jugs to keep filling it. So with my big brain I thought a water tank would be easier on me, how ever it is apparently an eye sore, hence the shed. The regular stores in town seem expensive for sheds and kijiji has been picked over for anything decent.

That's the one I've been looking at, but that is a lot of bike parts. Hoping for something cheaper.

This has walls, great frame and would be cheaper than any shed, could you get away with it? It comes in various colours too...

I used to have two of those for storage but eventually they broke due to wind and snow etc.

That tank is almost exactly the one I will get. I found a company in Camrose that makes them. They are the most cost effective and the biggest variety.

Awesome feedback, thanks

Perhaps a silly question but how does the 500 tank solve the problem of having to haul water?

Why not just save the money from the tank and shed and have a well dug?
The voices are back. Awesome!
