Just hoping the snow goes SOOON. Wanna get out riding. A friend of mine and I are planning an earier spring getaway to warmer climes for a ride, but I was wondering how long before we see good riding conditions close to home...

Glenn.
end of may. Try Kookanusa around the easter weekend. In fact with all the warm weather, i'm sure it was ridable last week
Dakota_c69 wrote:What on earth is Kookanusa??? I've never heard of it...
Glenn.
It's an area just S/W of Fernie. It's quite low in elevation, mostly sand type trails through bush. It's right on Lake Koocanusa. I've driven through Fernie when there were 10' snow banks, only to get to 'Kook" and find it perfect for riding. There is a large group from Lethbridge that goes there every Easter. Great camping. It's right on the BC/Montana border.

There is a web site in Eureka, Mt. that is for an Elk Ranch. It has a web camera pointed at the lake. I think the place is called Elk run or something like that (try google). It gives you a pretty good idea what the ground looks like

I couldn't find any live feed pictures, though.
Nah, that's a different area. There used to be an Elk ranch on the shores of Lake Koocanusa. It had a web cam pointed out at the lake and it gave a pretty shot of what the ground was like( you could tell if there was snow on the ground or not). The site is not running anymore
