GPS units

Post by thumper-darryl »

Just talked to a friend of mine who sells(distributor) GPS units. In his oppinion hands down the best bang for the buck is the Magellan Gold. has , large screen, fast processor, quadifier antenna(recieves signals from 4 directions at once), removable memory card, and top notch ruggedness. retails for $300-$350. Available from Wholesale sports, and GPS central. He also recommends Mapsendtopo Canada for software. Provides lots of detail for all of Canada, and allows you to save huge amount of detail, as you track trails. He said there are some comparable products from Garmin, but they are not as rugged. There is a good link to check out the software at gpscentral.ca
