Insurance and registration

Post by JasonP »

I’ve been riding off and on for many years and have always registered and insured my bikes but I just bought some bikes for my kids and am wondering if there is a minimum engine size that the requirement for Reg and ins applies too. I removed hearing over the years that anything under 100cc it’s not required but I would like to hear from someone that is 100% sure. I tried to look up the OHV regulations on the Alberta gov website but it costs $6 to look at them which I find weird. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have heard that you still need to insure and register 50cc bikes but I have not had to do this yet.

Hopefully someone chimes in with some decent info

I’m just gonna go ahead and register and insure them all.

I’m currently on the hunt for cheapest insurance in Alberta. I have klx300r, klx110 and a Suzuki z90.

Who do y’all use to insure your bikes?
Please post your cheapest rates and who it’s through.

I searched the forum and there are previous insurance discussions but nothing that’s remotely current.

Thanks!
